All Talkswitch VS models, the 24-CA, 48-CA, and 48-CVA now have 16 total local extensions, no licensing or extra product needed. As long as you update to software version 5.0 or later, you have this ability.
Each Talkswitch box has a maximum number of analog phones that can be hooked up, that part does not change. It is the second digit of the model number. So, for customers wanting only analog phones, this new feature is not really useful. For everyone else, it is. Any analog extension can be traded for an IP extension. The total phones on one box cannot exceed 16, they can all be IP, some can be IP, some can be analog up to that box limit.
Some examples, a Talkswitch 248VS has a maximum of 4 analog extensions, and 16 total extensions. So, all 16 might be IP phones, or, 12 might be IP and 4 analog, or, 14 IP and 2 analog. External IP extensions used as local extensions do count. Remote extensions do not count against that limit.
