One of the new features in Talkswitch software version 5.0 is the new dialing plan. In previous versions, a Talkswitch VOIP number (multi-site, private, Talkswitch VOIP number, not a phone line) could only be dialed from another system, you could not dial the VOIP number from the system it refers to. Where this matters is where customers may dial into different systems at different locations, previously, you would have to give them one number on one box, and a different number on another. You can now dial your own box via VOIP from the system which has the number.

So, as an example to make this clear, two locations, Dallas and Atlanta. In Dallas, a Talkswitch VOIP number 260 is defined that actually rings ext 151 in Dallas. If a customer calls the Dallas system, they can enter 260 to reach ext 151. If they call the Atlanta system, they can also dial 260 to reach ext 151 of the Dallas system. So, this makes it cleaner to use those Talkswitch VOIP numbers.
